About the Print

In Zen philosophy, a kōan is a paradoxical question or statement without a logical solution. Its purpose is not to be answered, but to break rational thought and reveal true insight. Our artists expressed this idea through the print of the Kōan men’s beach kimono:

  • Peonies fade into impermanence; chrysanthemums open again in renewal.
  • Gold lines trace the limits of human order, while drifting clouds return it to openness.
  • A small bird rests among them — easy to miss, visible only in true attention.

On the white ground, the print fades into clarity — lines reduced to essence.
About the fabric

Made from carefully selected polyester poplin, chosen for its balance of density and lightness. The weave gives a smooth, cool touch against the skin, while keeping a steady drape and clean movement. It allows air to pass freely yet holds its form
Fit and Size

The cuts are designed to be flexible and adapt naturally to different body types.

  • For those who usually wear sizes S to L, we recommend size M/L (kimono length: 80 cm / 31.5 in).
  • For those who wear XL and above, we recommend size XL/XXL (kimono length: 85 cm / 33.5 in).

The set includes matching shorts designed to complete the look.

Style notes

Worn open over swimwear on the beach or at the resort. Made for summer festivals and late-night gatherings. A men’s beach kimono for warm days, or a festival kimono for nights that follow.
Care

To keep the quality of your kimono wear after wear, machine wash on delicate cycle at 30°C (86°F) using mild detergent. Avoid bleach. Tumble dry on low or air dry flat, and lightly steam if needed.
